I have trouble with female relationships due to my family. My mother had 7 girls I was 3rd in line. Now at family BBQ's and such, I get invited as the "entertainment". They are gossiping b*&^%*&. I do not trust women as a result and have male friendships instead. And yes my DH knows and sees what they do to me, he is very understanding about the whole mess.

I love my female friends, we have been through everything with each other. I think its a shame when people think the housewives shows depict true female friendships. I never knew females irl who acted that way.

I don't think a married person should have friendships with the opposite sex. Call me old fashion but I say it just makes for trouble. I'm friendly with DH's friends and I do enjoy when we're all together but they're not my friends. I also think it's very inappropriate for a married person to be alone with the opposite sex. I don't think anything will necessarily happen, I just think it's disrespectful to their spouse.

I can't have friendships with men without it eventually turning into shameless flirting and borderline emotional affairs. I don't know what's wrong with me.

My secrets - I hate most women I prefer to spend my time with men, I'm not a whore, quite the opposite but men are not as bitchy or nasty. I can be friends with men without wanting to sleep with them, in fact I tend to do a child's "EW" at the thought of sex with my good male friends. I think anyone who has cheated on a long term partner is a pathetic POS and I have ended friendships on that basis. I am very intelligent, I have a genius level IQ but I fake being dumb so people think I'm normal. I am always surprised when men are interested in me, I don't think I'm interesting.

I don't have any female friends so I get jealous of my husbands friendships. I know it's childish but sux to be lonely a lot. I'm a young mom and the friends I had well weren't really friends.. friends are supposed to stick around no matter what.. I've never had those friends :(

Why is it so hard to find true female friends. I am so sick of female friendships that turn into some sort of competition. I am a very kind person and genuinely happy for others. Yet, I feel like I have to downplay my looks and career success or women hate me. I feel conceited even thinking this, but I have realized that being a nice looking and successful female means I have a low chance of developing meaningful friendships with women.

It's hard to make good girlfriends so I settled for a guy friend instead. In the end, they only want you for sex. Duh yeah. I knew that's how it is with m/f friendships. but it still sucks. I need some real friends.

friends come and go for me. it always makes me feel like my friendships will never last. and i feel like i'm the only one that doesn't have a "best friend". it's lonely, friend wise.
