DH did it again!!! Called when he got off and said he was taking friend/co-worker home, and was going to hang out for a while. Asked if I wanted to order out and I said no, I'm cooking for you. Called just now on way home to say he'd picked up Jamaican food for us, do I want the goat or the ox? NEITHER! I COOOKED! He does this almost all the time, the ONE time I anticipated it and didn't cook, he DIDN'T do it. He even did it on NYE after HE expressly bought seafood for our NYE dinner! grrrr

I love my DH but I may stop cooking. Here are some of his 'rules': NO seafood, mushrooms, or lamb of any kind. No food described as 'sour'. No fruit in green salads, or in hot dishes (fruit is breakfast) NO bones, or any other inedible parts of food items on plates. NO runny eggs or steaks less than medium-well. Sauces or gravies MUST be served in small bowls, on the side for dipping (and are always viewed with suspicion.) When he can get away with it, everyone at the table obeys his rules, or he can't eat. I have stopped talking about kids because I don't want this passed on to a child.

Dh complained the other day that he does most the cooking and I feel really bad. He works more than I do but I'm just not that creative in the kitchen and we can't really afford to get all the ingredients for me to try new recipes. We honestly eat like kings when we're broke because he can do wonders with pork chops, a can of tomatoes and spices. I can make some simple meals but he tires of them quickly. He's also pickier than he realizes but when I ask what he wants or doesn't want he won't tell me until I've already bought it. He goes the store with me and still pulls this shit.

Today my husband was an hour late coming home from work buying chicken, knowing I was cooking dinner. Then I asked him to come to the bedroom with me, he reached for the chicken instead. My husband chose chicken over me, twice. Hey sweetie, since I know you occasionally read this thread, next time you are looking for some go fuck a chicken instead.

I've always had major trust issues, but I used to trust him with my life. Since I caught him behind a locked door in the computer room (when I was downstairs cooking dinner for him) and he lied to my face until I pulled up the history on the computer and pointed the porn out to him, I started to lose that trust. Now he lies about little things, not anything even remotely important, but I have absolutely no trust left for him. If he doesn't text me back within 30 minutes I start to wonder what (or who) he's doing...I hate this. I want to trust him, but I don't.

Argh! I can't take it any more. Before I married ex-DH, he lived with a roommate in a clean place & made a great show of cooking meals, being an independent man. After marriage he didn't want to clean. You can't make someone do what they don't want to do. I tried everything; even went to a behavioural therapist. Do you know what happened when I stopped cleaning? Our home filled with piles of laundry, piles of garbage, ashtrays overflowing, every single dish in the kitchen piled high with stuck-on food. Finally we were infested with bugs. You can't make someone do what they don't want to do!

I've been married for 25 years and have never made my DH's lunch to take to work. I don't understand that women make their husband's lunches for them. We both do the cooking. I'll fix us lunch if we're both home. I'll ask if he wants a snack or a drink if I'm going to get one. I just don't make his lunch. I know it's weird.

MIL was visiting us and cooking. DH found globs of food smeared on the kitchen cabinets and on the floor by the stove. She left it for days. When he talked to her about it, she said "well it happens when you cook." No shit? I drop shit too when I cook, but then I PICK IT UP, you fucking barn animal!!!

I'm so happy DH don't eat boxed crap "food" anymore. It's expensive, chemical byproduct IMO. Cooking from scratch is way cheaper and tastes so much better.
