Confessions for Showing 1 - 10 of 41
My husband had a shit fit when I went to my cousin's baby's first birthday party last week. He thought it was silly to spend $$ and drive 30 minutes to celebrate a kids birthday when we barely even know the baby(even though my entire family was going and I love my cousin dearly). Today, he fowarded me an e-mail from one of the guys he works with. His kid is having her first birthday and dh wants me to go. He didn't go with me to my cousins and he will be out of town for this party. I have only met these people twice and it is an hour and a half away. So NOT going...
I am having a gathering at my house tomorrow. It's a low key birthday party. You'd think the president was coming. I get SO focused on having my house just right. I think next time I am seriously going to just hire someone to clean so I quit worrying. I am like this at every get together at my house-I wish I weren't.
Today while leaving a grandkid's birthday party (that DH's ex also attended),just as DH started the car his ex walked right in front of us. Under my breath I jokingly said 'now's your chance, babe,' then we both started laughing hysterically. I laugh every time I think about the look on her face.
Pooor DH, he went to a 40th birthday party (5th one in a row) and now has the 2 day hangover. Yeah. Bunch of partiers from high school turning 40 and finding out they can't do it anymore. I feel sad, but laugh a little at the same time. His is comming up in a few weeks.
I'm throwing my husband a surprise 40th birthday party in two weeks! I've been planning it since January and it has been so hard to not mention it at home to him or the kids (who I will tell the day of the party and not a moment sooner). I'm so excited!
Tonight was a friends 40th birthday party and our sitter canceled last minute. I called my hubby to tell him I emailed the host to tell her I wouldnt be coming but that he still was. His told me I should have emailed the host that niether of us were going because he would rather spend time with me than anyone eles. My husband is the best :)
What the hell? We went to a birthday party at a bar and there were tons of toddlers there! When did bringing toddlers and babies to bars become the norm??
I was at a nine year old's birthday party and if anyone had given him cash, he very loudly announced how much money it was. "She gave me TEN DOLLARS," or "He gave me THIRTY DOLLARS." It was so embarrassing for the guests, and I think the mom wanted to crawl into a hole.
My friend asked me to come to her baby's first birthday party, so I did, really just to support my friend. And this has gone on for several years now. He's getting older and I keep hoping that she'll just let him have a party with his friends and finally stop asking all her adult friends to come to these parties. I'm not in little Billy's social circle, hun.
