Confessions for Showing 1 - 10 of 101
My boss is retiring very soon. He was an awesome boss. Too bad this economy has sucked this industry dry. I will have a new boss soon, and no idea what his plans are...may be looking for a new job soon. This sucks ass. I used to love working here.
One of the teachers I work with got fired yesterday. After many meetings with the principal, who counseled and advised him on how to improve his teaching, he showed no signs of willingness to change. It has always been "the kids' fault they aren't learning", or "the parents' fault" for something. Well guess what, that overinflated ego just got your ass fired. Next time, try a little humility and DO WHAT YOUR BOSS TELLS YOU TO DO. Good luck finding another job in this economy, dumb ass.
I was just asked "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" in an interview. My response was I would like to stay and advance within the same company, but the way the economy is right now no one knows where they will be in 5 years and we should be honest with ourselves and each other about that. The interviewer laughed and said I passed the first interview.
Tomorrow I give my two-week notice precisely as the company runs out of funding for me and was going to force me into a position 2 pay grades down to keep my hard-workin' self around. My husband got a fabulous job offer in another state. We're moving to a better life in a better economy. I would like to dedicate this one to all the Truu Office Confessees who see no end in sight. I've suffered in a hell job for 2 years while the hub has been unable to find work, yet miracles CAN happen. Don't give up!!
Most new small businesses take at least three years to become profitable. In this economy, probably longer. Keep a close eye on your margins, that's my best advice.
Employees need to strike back at employers. Do they suck? Quit, report them, cause a stir. I know in this economy everyone is desperate for a job, but I think some places take advantage of that, and I wish it would change.
In high school, my family was poor and I was picked on because if it. I got VERY lucky with investments before the economy tanked, and I am now quite wealthy. My reunion is coming up. Decisions, decisions.
I've worked in places of employment that range from a handful of people to a huge hospital with hundreds of workers. Never once did we have a problem with food theft. DH on the other hand, poor guy. In almost all the places he's worked, lunches have been swiped from the break room. Bad economy isn't an excuse since this has been happening throughout the years and in several places. Even if times are tough that doesn't mean you're entitled to someone else's food. Hands off! That clearly isn't your name on the bag. If you get caught you could be fired. Was that extra sandwich worth it?
