I hate the double standard...men can leave for days/weeks/months for work, or take off for a week-long fishing trip and nobody bats an eye, it's normal for a man to do that. but if a woman works away from home or decides to go on her own week-long holiday? she's "abandoning the family" and "how could she leave her kids?". i absolutely hate it.

I haven't had a full day with no work (including house shit) in .. never. Never ever. I've never had a massage. Or a facial. Or a 'spa day'. The only saunas I've ever been in have been either at a Holiday Inn or the one my neighbor built out of a woodshed, in which he sits naked in all his 70 yo glory. Yeah, I only was in that one once. And only until the towel came off. I had no idea he was going to do that. Silly old fart.

My DH acted like a drunk jackass at my company's holiday party Friday night and I'm so dreading work tomorrow. And I'm sooo unattracted to him today.

My friend has suffered 2 miscarriages in the last 2 years, the latest one over the holidays. Today, her husband surprised her with the news that he's taking her to Paris in the spring! I told her to screw his brains out. And I hope she gets knocked up with the baby they've so desperately wanted :D

I just made a cash donation to our local food bank. I do it at this time every year, instead of during the holidays. Lots of people are generous during the holidays, which is great, but the people who need food banks usually still need them in January and not many donations are coming in.

This holiday, Ill be taking my DD5 to go get carry out breakfast, in her pj's . Thens its home for a full fledge pj day with a nap , some crafts and her fav dinner. Lastly, getting ready for another short week. I love it, happy MLK day everyone.

My DH and I own a very lucrative business. His family, including his grown children rarely call him. They don't call on holidays or birthdays. His daughter calls us around the 1st of every month because she needs money. I told him to offer her a job. We've loaned my kids money and they all work to pay us back. She declined, so we did too. In a way, I hope she ends up homeless. (not really homeless....just really unhappy)

I don't want to ask my MIL to watch our kids next week. I feel like we'd be "burdening" her since she only ever sees us on holidays. Maybe I am a bitch & the phone goes both ways....but when my kids are parents you just see if this grandma won't be calling!

I've been off Facebook since the holidays. I don't need to beat myself because my life doesn't measure up. And I did do that a lot. I was also very bad at keeping up with people so it was just another pressure. FB free for me!

So worried...I was supposed to get paid on 03/01...was told it would be 05/01 because of the holidays...still no deposit...emailed HR and all they acknowledged was my question about my next pay which is supposed to be 17/01 but somehow is now 25/01...the car payment bounced today...no groceries in the house...very little gas...we make too much to qualify for help but I can't seem to get paid and I work for the government! I don't know how I will keep everyone fed until I do get paid or how I will put gas in the care to get to work! Stressing big time!
