There's this dad at DS elementary that stares at me all the time. He's not a bad looking man, but I'm married. He makes me nervous.

My DS2 was moved to a new older class at preschool. I was complimenting the teachers on how much he likes their class & he is getting so big-when his old teacher said from behind me, "Well he must've just hated this class!" And stomped off. One had zero to do with the other-I was not badmouthing them. I was shocked & told the director. My DH said I should have insisted on a meeting right then with her. We are customers! Not only that-what makes her so insecure?? I flipping complimented them plenty when he was in her class!

My mother has never once told me that I am a good mother. All she does is criticize and put me down. My father, my sister, my friends, DS's father - they all tell me I am an amazing mother, and all I think when they say that is "No I'm not" because my own mother only ever puts me down

Please for the sake of everyone try to find a special needs school or a public school with special needs classes and teachers for your child with autism. Mainstreaming is not always a good idea, I can not teach my 24 other students when yours is disrupting the whole class for hours because someone said something he didn't like. Oh and thanks for the fit you threw when we removed him from the class for the second half of the day.

I never had a lot of clothes when I was growing up. Not that we didn't have the money, I guess my parents thought that because I had uniforms for school and sports that I didn't need a lot. I had maybe 5 outfits at a time in HS. So I overcompensate for DS10. I just counted. 21 pants, 62 shirts, 10 pairs of shoes, 9 hoodies and 5 jackets. I love buying for him. I'm glad I didn't have a girl. It would probably be double that.

My 4 year old DS has a genitic diease, though you can't tell by looking at him. To me,it wouldn't matter if had downs, autism, aspegers (sp) cp, SB, CF or any of the horrible things out there. He'd STILL be my son, and I'd still love him more than anything in the world.

It's been over a year since my HS friends lost their 18yo DD to a drug overdose. It makes me worry so much more about my 17yo DS than I think I would have had it not happened. Every time he goes out with friends I count the hours until he gets home. I talk a lot more about drugs with him than I think I would have too. It's just so freaking scary out there.

After a lot of consideration, I think we are one and done. I still have so many plans and dreams and I think another one would only make life more difficult. I love my DS with all my heart, and I know we just don't have the resources for me to fulfill my dreams, give him a good future, and have another one. I feel like it maybe selfish, but I think we will all be happier this way. The next one will be a puppy, but we will wait a few years until DS is old enough to help take care of it and love it right.

I think my ds4 has ASD (autism spectrum disorder) I don't know where to start or what to do. Is it possible for him to be 4 and we have not picked it yet?

During the final stages of our first adoption process, our case worker asked DS if he liked living with us.He said yes and added that his favorite things about us was that we kissed him good night every night and that we told him he was smart and funny.Small stuff no one had done for him before.Tomorrow it will be four years since we met.He has gotten a good night kiss from mama or papa every night since then.We are the lucky ones who got the honor and joy of doing this for him,our smart and funny boy.
