Yesterday, a surgeon sent me a piece of some guy's lung in a used Ziploc baggie and wanted me to culture it. I called him and told him we couldn't do much because the specimen wasn't in a sterile container. The surgeon said "What? You mean that baggie wasn't sterile?" Um, remind me to NEVER have an operation done by that guy!
