Four YO DD says "T-I-T." Eight YO says "That spells tit. It spells tit." 29 YO me can't stop laughing because both children are so innocent-clearly I am twelve years old stuck in this body! more

Need advice, respond please: As a parent of a teenager with Asperger's Syndrome (aka high-functioning autism) I am in the difficult position that my child doesn't want other kids to know and thinks that it will make her social situation even more ackward with people treating her like she's stupid rather than the intelligent girl she it. I understand, BUT, I also see it that people don't want to be around her because they don't understand her. As a parent of a 'regular kid' would you want to know that your child is around a kid on the spectrum? Would you tell your child's secret????

Dear SSis. I love you, but I cannot fathom flying 2000 miles to leave my 3 MO baby at a sitter for your entire wedding. It is your day and you can request no kids, but I won't be attending. It's really expensive to travel out there and the baby will be too small to stay with a stranger for 6+ hrs. You didn't come to our wedding and I am ok with it. Please grow up and be ok with me not going to yours.

Want to know what happens when a teenager gets pregnant? They register for thousands of dollars worth of baby crap.

In the 10 years I've done the finances for our family I've made small accounting mistakes here and there. Each time I balance the checkbook any mistakes previously made are found. I learned today that I made an accounting error that shorted our account $1,000. My not-so-little mistake wasn't caught when I balanced the checkbook. Fees are over $300 and we don't get paid until Thursday. I feel awful.

I didn't know MIA flipped off the camera. I didn't notice it and I didn't read it in the news (though I generally avoid entertainment news outlets). Once again, Truu provides the REAL story.

My kid has Autism. He will never speak, he will never live independently, he will never be able to make his own meals or even tie his shoes. With all that said, I know my kid loves me. His face lights up when he sees me and hugs and cuddling are like candy to him. Even my typical kids don't show affection like my kid with autism.

I've worked in the media for 10 years. Do you know why we have to report on M.I.A. flipping off the camera at the Super Bowl? Because people expect the TV to raise their kids. And when stupid sh*t like this happens, we get phone calls and emails from parents everywhere, yelling at us. So radio, TV, online and print media has to talk about it and apologize for it to satiate everybody. We can't afford another Nipplegate...and honestly, I didn't see it either. But don't blame the media; the psycho parents are the reason we have to cover all of our bases. And M.I.A. should know better.

I wonder how many women would be horrified if their significant other got their little boys ears pierced?

After reading the posts here about the complications of raising kids today. I am so glad that I'm not a mom raising one now. It wasn't that complicated back in the 80s. no peanut allergies,(that we knew of)no PC crap, no arresting kids for having a plastic knife in their lunchbox, no, "everyone's a winner or we might hurt someones feelings",, no, whiny crybaby parents that ruin things for all the kids, just because they don't believe in something. I'm just glad.
