Locking horns with MIL at the moment. I would rather let my 16 year old daughter having time for cheerleading, dance/French club and than force her to work minimum wage for hours a week to save money for college. I will give her the money she'd have made easily, as far as I am concerned, she only has a couple more precious years to be a kid before she has to grow up. She will have her whole life to work, she only has two more years to enjoy school/being a kid with her friends. MIL thinks my daughter should know fun ends now and she should give it all up to work 22 hours a week. No way, MIL.
