They are talking about introducing paid maternity leave here in Australia. I am in my late fourties now, so it doesn't apply to me, but I actually worry about it being introduced. My three daughters are in their early/mid twenties and I worry it will hurt them because the cost of paying maternity leave will discourage employers from hiring young women.
