I feel horrible. I ran over someone's cat yesterday, it was dark and he dashed across a busy road. The poor things was still breathing, but very weakly with a bloody mouth. A stranger (who I didn't even have the mind to thank with a wave) stopped their car to give me light and to keep traffic back while I got the cat out of the road and into my car. I got him to the vet, but there was nothing they could do but put him down. He had no tags but I'm sure he wasn't a stray. He had a lovely orange coat. I have no idea how to go about finding out who his (her?) owners were. I'm so sorry.
