I'm 22 and addicted to reading the mom confession. *sigh* i'm having such baby fever. We're not planning on having kids for at least the next 5 years (wanting to finish grad school and get started in careers), but damn, my baby fever has been kicking in lately for some reason. I'm a good girl and I'll wait, but I'm so looking forward to being a mom

I stupidly skipped my nightly shower last night and am totally regretting it today. My hair feels greasy and heavy and my feet stink because I'm wearing heels with no socks. All I can think about is going home and taking a shower!

My DH hates clutter with a passion. Unfortunately for him I have no concept of this and I tend to let things go until I have to have a SUPER organization day. Whether it be my underware drawer that I just throw everything into all out of order or my nightstand that's currently holding too much jewelry, sunglasses, pens, 3 or 4 books that I'm reading, etc. But the thing that irks the SHIT outa me is when I leave the mail in the MAIL BASKET for like a week or two then it suddenly disappears and shows up under my bed in a tied up shopping bag. I was gonna go thru it...on my super organization day

I suspect my friend is scapegoating her 7yo boy. Keeps calling him "difficult," claims he's straining the marriage because husband "has" to go out of town for a break from him. Claims he's "bad at chores," "highly manipulative." (What kid isn't?) The dad ran over the family dog and somehow that's kid's fault too, because he didn't warn dad that the dog was there. (?) The boy doesn't have a disability, though he's pretty anxious. (Wonder why?) Should I make a gentle comment to my friend?

Both of my DS have been in school now for three weeks. Every afternoon while they are gone DD and I snuggle up on the couch and watch cartoons together and them fall asleep. I love it, I know it is going to end because she starts pre k next week.

It's your own daughter's fault that she left my house hungry. You have created a little monster, and she is picky to the point of ridiculous. No, I will NOT drive to McDonald's to get her a Happy Meal when I've cooked a nice dinner for everyone. If you hadn't started that shit, she wouldn't be like this now. Incidentally, have you not noticed how fat she's getting? Might it be because the only thing she eats is burgers and fries that you purchase for her? Let her get hungry, she'll eat when she's ready.

There is a certain attitude about money that goes with poverty. I remember it from my childhood. It was sort of like: money comes and goes, like the weather, you can't control it. And then money gets mixed up with feelings of shame and rage and grief, so it's hard to make the right decisions. Even now, I'm in a good financial situation, but I have to take deep calming breaths before I do my monthly budget, and remind myself that I control the money, it does not control me.

Not yet -- in denial that the lazy days of summer are over.
