So, my friend gave us a color for our bridesmaid dresses and told us to "buy whatever we want". I showed her online what my dress looked like and she approved. After I paid a lot of money for the dress and some shoes(and it's not able to be returned), she tells me over the phone its not the right color and asks if I could buy another one. No. I just took myself out of the bridal party. more

Truu is sticking around! More details to come soon.

So you're inviting my brother and his girlfriend of four months -- and you are also inviting me, but sans my fiance, and man I have been with for 5 years. Yeah, you and your family are officially the lamest people I know. As if the treating me like shit & admitting it's because I'm prettier than you wasn't lame enough. You really couldn't get any ruder.

I'm the MOH for my BFF. However, I can't afford to be and neither can any of her other bridesmaids. When I agreed, I still had a well paying job and could afford such things, I lost that job a few months ago... I feel like I'm letting her down.

Bridal showers/ wedding presents: if people want to give you gifts then good for them. But I think it's rude to push a registry or specific requests on people. (We plan to deflect difficult etiquette questions- specifically this one!- onto our mothers. Our answer is "we only ask for the honour of your presence". But if we had a registry we'd ask our parents to give it out to those who ask)

Our friends over at LOOK TV teamed up with THE GLOW to celebrate moms BEYOND MOTHER'S DAY and they're doing an amazing giveaway -- 3 luxe Coach bags!   Just jump on over to LOOK TV, subscribe to the channel and leave a comment about your mom.  That's it -- they'll be picking winners at random at the end of the week.

When my friend was getting married, she was calling around to all of the bridesmaids and saying "I'm going to have everyone bring a cooking utensil to both showers.' 1. Stop asking for gifts. 2. Isn't your MOH supposed to do that sort of planning for you? 3. I know you think you're special, but one shower is enough. 4. If you think I'm going to drive several hours to two different showers, that are a week apart, you're high.

I think if people live together, there is nothing wrong with registry/gifts. People want to give you gifts to celebrate your marriage, get some upgrades like nicer curtains or nicer sheets.

Fine, I understand everyone has a Bridal Shower, its tradition great. But the "Wishing Well" ?!?! No that is where I draw the line.... I'm not buying cleaning supplies, beach games, or whatever other greedy crap that you and your maids come up with that you decide can be obscurely related to getting married !!! "They will use it to clean their house, Play games together" NO !!!

I managed to squeeze into that Bridesmaid gown but the few pics I've seen, my stomach is pushing the gown to the limit. Ugh!

I went to a wedding and the bride and some of the bridesmaids had really tight ringlets. I swear, they looked like they just got off of the wagon train.

There HAS to be an alternative to having a receiving line. I do not want to kiss 175 people! Help!!!
