Q:MODS, isn't the talk of the day question supposed to change daily, or for cripe's sake, every other day!
A: Yes it is, and as I explained in my last blog we would be experiencing site hiccups from the 15th-20th in the back end that may affect what gets published and when. We are done working in the back end, so everything should *knock on wood* be back to normal now, and will hopefully provide a smoother experience for our users :)
Q:Mods: I really wish there was another board option. I am engaged, so I do not fit Single/Wife. Not planning a wedding, and we are living together, which makes Brides frustrating. I post on Moms, but that does not fit completely either. I don't really fit on Office or Military either. I try to keep Body physical, lol. How about a "general" option? Might make for a good time, lol! Thanks for all you do. :)

A: We ban users who break the rules. Just send me whatever comments or posts you found offensive and I’ll evaluate them.

Q:It kinda freaks me out that the mods read ALL the confessions and they know which ones are mine. They know more about me than ANYBODY if they're paying attention to where these posts are coming from. They know when I post anonymously and then comment on my own posts like I didn't write them. They know when I contradict myself and am full of shit. They know how I REALLY feel about certain things. They know all my secrets. It's unsettling.
A: I’m really flattered that you think I’m that observant, lol. I’m lucky if I figure out an obscure reference to another post :) You have nothing to worry about, unless there’s a problem I don’t even notice whether the user posting is anonymous or has a screen name. Unless there’s a BIG problem, I don’t have access to their IP address (and actually the tech guy handles that), and unless I just get really really board (not likely with a two year old) I could never hope to read all the comments on all the channels of every confession of this website. We really are your anonymous best friend.

So after yesterday's "kittens for target practice" being posted, today it's "my anally raped pit bull." Are you happy mods? Everyone is going to submit this sort of stuff now. Bravo.

One, I can tell the fifty posts you made (obviously not all represented above, those were just the ones with the word mods in it) pretending to be different people on this site were all from the same person. It was annoying enough that I actually had the tech guy look into it. You are the ONLY person who complained, and I REALLY don’t appreciate it when the users try to trick me
Two.... NEITHER of the confessors of those posts were actually the ones who abused the animals. They were people COMPLAINING about other people abusing the animals and how messed up it was.
Three.... you seem to have missed the memo about not allowing GRAPHIC accounts of child, animal, sexual, or physical abuse. Would you like an example of a graphic animal abuse confession?
How about instead of:

See the difference? People are allowed to post about just about any topic. Graphic details are the only things not allowed.
Q:MODS: Confession ### is a "confession" about advertising for a name brand product. I flagged it. I thought we weren't allowed to "advertise" on here? I'm pretty sure this person is getting compensated for advertising.
A: I really doubt it. It’s a pretty common brand, and the post wasn’t about using the brand, it was a side note, and this was an update on an earlier post. Plus there’s no link, and the user would have to prove they were the ones who made that post to get compensation. As it’s anonymous and we sure as anything aren’t sharing that information, they’d never get paid. Thank you for letting me know though, it’s always worth a second look. You guys can post about products you use (to add detail to your confession, not for the explicit use of advertising), just keep it to a minimum and don’t post any links
Q:Wow, the mods were tough on the c confessions last night. I've never seen so many number gaps. And not one of mine made it through.
A: We noticed a huge amount of duplicate and triplicate confessions this week (site maintence stuff probably affected it) so that’s most of the numbers, but If you can let me know which confessions aren’t showing up, I can double check them. We’ve had some construction in the back end, and it’s made everything a little wonky. Luckily it’s over and the site is functioning better than ever!
Q:mods is there ANY way to make this site stop erroring out over the cookie issue? It's so annoying to have to regularly clear all my cookies (i stay signed in to about 20 sites and I have to re-enter my info on ALL of them). It's to the point that when this site gives me the cookie error, I stay away for weeks because I don't feel like clearing them! This is the only site that does it to me
A: It may not do that anymore. If this issue pops up for you again please send me another confession or email and I’ll let our tech guy know

Q:wtf mods! you let other people come back and do "this is the op of __" explanation posts but you don't let mine through? I was the op on disability and the post was that I want to be a plumber but nobody would hire me with my disability. why wasn't it let through? There have been plenty other responses to my original post, but you don't let the original poster make an additional post? wtf is up with that? i'm getting mad. yet ANOTHER post of mine not getting through while other similar confessions do. do your job, mods.
A: Again, the stuff in the back end really messed with the updates. We had a lot go through that shouldn’t have, we had a lot not that should have. It was chaos, but hopefully everything is working better now. I’d repost yours, but we’re actually not supposed to let people respond to their own confessions either. I let that slide for awhile, but apparently someone has been highjacking confessions and claiming to be the op who “fill in the blank”, so now I need to enforce that policy. If you use your screen name you can comment in your own confessions, but again responses to comments shouldn’t be allowed through as an actual confession.
Q:MODS: First, I would just like to say, I love you site and you guy do a great job! Thank you! second, can we please move the debate about "laptop dad" to the blog? By now I'm sure we're heard every possible opinion and it's starting to get old.
A: Sounds like a great topic! I’m doing our topical blog tomorrow. If I see another post about it between now and then, I will absolutely post it as our blog.

Q:anyone looking to cook the perfect steak, here it is: Let steaks come to room temp for about 1 hr. Season however you like. (I'm just a S&P person) Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat cast iron skillet on stovetop, add 1 tbsp oil. Put steaks in skillet and cook EXACTLY 2 minutes each side, then pop in oven for 6 to 8 minutes, the let rest. Perfection and so easy! I may never grill a steak on the bbq again. I hope the mods put this through.

Q:Mods: let this one through! I'm not being racist- I'm making an observation about what I perceive to be the racism of others. In my experience, when people grumble about welfare recipients with manicured nails, they make it quite clear they are talking specifically about African American welfare recipients. I wonder if others have noticed this, or if it's just a side effect of living in a very small, very white town.
